(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, December 5. In the Magistrate's Court, Erie Beeves pleaded guilty to being intoxicated in charge of a motor-car, and was fined £4O, and his driving license cancelled for three years by Mr E. Page, S.M. On behalf of accused Mr C. EvansScott contended the offence was merely a technical one. He had had a certain amount of drink that night, which in ordinary times would not have affected him. When accused left the .house where he had been drinking he was quite sober, but the frewh air affected him, and to his surprise defendant realised he was not quite sober. He stopped the car so he could recover. He had pulled up in the safest spot possible.
