RABBIT BREEDING.
ADDRESS TO ASSOCIATION. "lu is estimated that there are mora than one thousand persons wholly or partly engaged in rabbit farming ip. the Dominion," said Mr Y. H. Benton, during an address on rabbit breeding, to the Canterbury Rabbit Breeders' Association on Saturday evening. ''Approximately 50,000 rabbits are being farmed," Mr Benton continued. "From this number wool and pelts valued at about £26,000 should bo exported during the nest year. _ It is a little more than two years since domestic rabbits were first landed i" New Zealand, so that this can be regarded as a very creditable achievement." ,Mr Benton, who judged the rabbit section at the Metropolitan Show, also gave a brief talk on tho animals exhibited. He said that the entries tabled constituted a record for any agricultural show yet held', in New Zealand.
