MARSHLAND SPORTS CLUB.

♦- ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Marshland Sports Club was held in the hall on Thursday evening. A good number of members wo'ro present. Mr Wm. Waugh presided, una in his report stated that the formation of a sports club had filled a long-felt want, and had thoroughly justified its existence. A very successful athletic sports meeting had been carried out daring the year, while a most successful football club had .bean foimed, whick gave promise of big things.

He "asked for the hearty co-operation ct members and hoped that every one in the district would give of their beet to farther the interest of clean sport. He felt ante if all held' together the time would not be distant when they would bo able to eecuxe a suitable playing ground. The secretary, Mr L. J. Wilson, read the ■balance-sheet, which showed a credit balance of over £2O. This was considered very satisfactory. The reporta were adopted. Messrs H. B. Hibbard, G. Chisnall, and W E. Sturgiss congratulated the management on their first year's activities and predicted a great future for the club.
