Republican Party ot New York State has nominated Mr Charles Tuttle, former United States Attorney, as a candidate for Governor on the platform demanding the repeal of the Prohibition law. TV platform was written to meet Mr Tuttle s demand for such a declaration, and its adoption and his nomination have transformed the ItepubUcan Party from a "Dry" to a "Wet'' organisation in New York State. The vVets have hailed the event as one °f most important developments for their cause in many years, and predict that "it may have a far-reaching effect.
