OLD CRUISER ADRIFT.
♦- - SIX MEN ABOARD. (BRITISH OFFICIAL VTIBELESS.) (Received September 28th, 5.5 p.m.) RUGBY, September 27. During an exceptionally severe gale off tho East Coast of Great Britain, the old cruiser Conquest, which was in tow for Fife to be scrapped, broke adrift, and the tug which had her in 'charge signalled all shipping to keep a strict look-out for the vessel, which is drifting .25 miles south of Flamborough Head. The tug's message stated that there were six men aboard the cruiser, which being out of control, was dangerous to' navigation. The tug's efforts to. take the cruiser in tow'again were unsuccessful owing to the rough weather, which showß no signs of moderating. A later message stated: — After being ten hours adrift, the cruiser Conquest was picked ut> by a Hull tug and towed into the Humber.
