AN AMERICAN MAIL.
[TUB PEE3S Special Sarrlce.] AUCKLAND, September 23. A quantity of American mail for New Zealand, which ordinarily would hate reached Wellington last Monday by the Tahiti, was Drought by the American steamer Golden Cloud, which arrived this morning from LoS Angeles. - The mail totalled 612 bags. The usual United States Government subsidy paid to the shipping company in respect to the mail was £2BOO, which works out at £4 lis 0d a bag.
