EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. "ATLANTIC." Onco again it has been pioved that "Made in England," affixed lo any jroduct, is a guarantee of .ixcellence. la the production of dramatic talkies the British producer is foremost in the field, this time with "Atlantic," the screen version of Ernest Raymond's play, "The Berg." ''Atlantic" will commence a season at Everybody's Theatre to-day. This picture is characterised by two or three features which are pie-eminent. i;t a film which is noticeably lacking in defects. The acting, for one thing; is completely different from anything eeen in American pictures, a great deal of dignity and restraint being palpably exercised by the performeis; the speech is the purest English; and th<- director's treatment of those serious, dramatic scenes in which the picture is prolific, is likewise in admirable taste. Th« theme is neither light noi amusing, but that does not automatically make the picture less entertaining. The entire aetioi*, is st:ged aboard a giant liner, the ur.cinkable ship who met her doom on Iter maiden voyage. It is poignant, but never tragic; it is lofty and inspiring, and it ia good indeed to think that the picture was made in England. Those taking leading roles in the picture are Fratiklvn Dyall, John Lrngden, John Stuart, D. A. Clarke Smith, and Donald Calthorp, Miss Madeleine Cirro!l, Mia.) Ellalino Terriss, and Miss Joan Barry, all giving superb performances The programme also includes some short musical and talking m'mbers and talking newerecls of the world Box plans are at The Bristol Piano Company.
