THE PILGRIMS.
QUARTERLY REUNION. Over three hundred members and friends, of the Canterbury Pilgrims' Association attended the Association's quarterly reunion, which was held on Saturday afternoon in the Art Gallery, Durham street. Mr P. R. Webb presided. An interesting programmo ot musical items piecedod afternoon tea, the following members coiiirioutiiig: — Air atia Mrs ii. Lunn, who sang Handel's "Largo" and "The t'lorul Dance"; Mrs ItusseiJ, • whoso playing of- the pianoforte so,o "Jhe Aeroplane," was particularly pleasing, and Miss Lucy Cowan, who recounted in vivid manner two stories, one of the present time, entitled "Opening a Banking Account" and another, descriptive ol an incident of Canterbury farm life in the early days. Miss Cowan prefaced her first story with a quotation of a verso of Stephen Adams's poem, "Maoriland." Mr Lunn, besides accompanying the vocal items, led the singing of the chorusds of three old 'songs—"Genevieve," "Canadian Boat Song," and "Hard Times."
During the entertainment the chairman announced that a suggestion to hold a special Pilgrims' gathering on the occasion of the 80th anniversary was being considered. The event would probably take tho form of a sports day, and could be held at Pilgrims' Corner, if the United Club's grounds could be obtained. After afternoon tea had been served some time was devoted to a general reunion of members.
