"A MOST UNWORTHY LADY."

With Leatrice Joy in the leading feminine role, "A Most Unworthy Lady," at Every body'B Theatre this week, is a picture which is crowded with incident, and never allows the interest of the audience to flag. The story is a peculiar one, and the climax is unexpected and extraordinary. s It concerns a man and his wife who have hit. upon a new method of making easy money by a form of blackmail. Mr and Mrs Sargent are a married couple who move on the outskirts of high society. Laura Sargent (Leatrice Joy) is beautiful and attractive 'to nearly all m§n. The time comes when her husband is ruined by a series of disastrous operations on the stock exchange. .He is desperate, and manages to persuade his wife to allow a wealthy financier, to make love to her, and then the hußband catches them in a compromising position. Nothing bnt a large cheque can soothe his wounded feelings. Further, he pretends that he does not care for his wife, and will make a scandal by instituting divorce proceedings. The victim, to spare the woman the publicity, pays another sum by way of hush money, and the incident iB regarded as closed. Sargent finds this method of living effortless and lucrative. And so it goes on until his wife falls in love with one of her victims and so complicated matters.
