WOODEND. There died last week at the age of 88 years. Mr Robert McQuillan, a very highly respected resident of the Woodend-Waikuku district. He was born at Muladragh, County Armagh, Ireland. With his parents, a .brother, and two sisters, he came to New. Zea land in 1862, in the sailing ship Queen of i the Merry. The family made their home in Waiknku. Mr McQuillan had a varied career, being at different times engaged in flour-milling, cartage contracting, road-making, and latterly in dairy farming. He married Miss Elizabeth Eatherin Hamilton in 1873. and his wife died four years ago. Mi McQuillan is survived by onp sister. Mrs Bicb'us, Christchurch, three daughters, four sons, and fifteen grand-child en. The interjnent took place on Friday afternoon at the Anglican cemetery, the funeral service being conducted by the Rev. B. ChaTd. The pall-bearers were his four sons, and a large number of wreath? were sent by relatives and friends.
