DEATH FROM EXPOSURE.
■■: ♦ - ! TRAGIC END TO PIG-HUNTINC* EXPEDITION. (purs* association Tsmaniu,) TIMARU, September 21. Three men, George Constable arid Edward Johnston, of Hiltoh, and Thomas Watts, of Christchurch, left Neutae's Gully, ten miles from Geraldlne, early oii Saturday morning for Blue Mountain, on a pighiinting expedition. The party took a short out on returning, and Were hopelessiy lost in ihe fog and darkness. Snow commenced to fall, and *thev decided to camp for the night. Between 0 and 10 o'clock Constable collapsed, and died at 5 o'clook this morning. Johnston and Watts went for assistance. Watts injured a leg, and Johnston proceeded, alone, reaching the home of S. Neutie at IAS a.m. A message was sent to the police at Geraldine. and search parties were arranged. Meanwhile Watts reached Neutze's. home.
Constable's body wns. recovered, lie was a married man with four children.
