"WITH BYRD AT THE SOUTH
POLE."
"With Byrd at the South Poie," Para mount'B thrilling picturisation of the recent Byrd expedition to the Antarctic regions, will bo presented at Crystal Palace Theatre this week, commencing to-day. Photographed by two ol Paramount'* cameramen, Joseph Uucker and Wizard Vand« Veer, who, tor two years toiled with Byrd and his cotnpau ions in the Polar r«gions. "With Byrd at the South Pole" depicts in dramatic form one of the finost achievements of modern times. The results obtained by these two cameramen are striking. The drama, the heroism, the comedy, the brief, fleeting moments of despair, are all blended together into one stirring story the equal of which has probably never beer seen before on tho audible screen.
"With Byrd at the South Polo" remains first and foremost a picture of vivid action. And then, when one realises that this dramat isation of the Byrd Polar expedition ib the first picture of "the bottom of the world ever photographed it adds another thrill. During the last two reels of this picture, beginning when Byrd and Balchen, a radio operator and a cameraman, take off tor tne Pole itself, the voice of Floyd Gibbons, radioannouncer and journalist, is hoard describing the details of this now historic flightGibbons brings to his vivid description a knowledge of flying that makes him partlculnrly well suited fo this interpretative ro «.
