What is possibly the most ambitious aviation project so far dealt with in this country was considered by the Taumarunui Chamber of Commerce a few days ago. The plan was revealed in.a letter to the Mayor from Mr H. T Morton, of Te Kuiti, who is seeking the views of prominent King Country citizens in regard to establishing a chain of aerodromes through the centre of the North Island. Landing grounds are proposed at Te Kuiti, Pio Pio, Taumarunui. and Ohakune. Mr Morton intimated that application had been made to the Minister for Internal Affairs for permission to conduct an art union to assist with the financing of the scheme, and it was anticipated that fiiis would be granted in two or three months' time
