CIVIC THEATRE.
BRITISH MYSTERY DRAMA. A welcome change from American accent is provided by an all-British talking picture showing at the Civic Theatre this week. "At the Villa Rose" is the film version of A. E. W. Mason's book, the scenes being laid in Franco. It is a mystery story that is told without any of the hysterics that usually accompany such tales.- The story centres round the murder of an elderly lady of wealth who is the owner of a world-famoua collection of jewels. She has a girl living with her who fakes seances. At a seance one night the elderly woman is killed, and thereby hangs most of the tale.
