The postponed L.G.U. medal is to be p"layed i day ' September 26th. Draw will be published in papers September 24th. Closing day has been altered to October 9th instead of October 16th, and the iron club match will be cut out this season. ELLESMERE CLUB. The final of the club championship was played on the Ellosmere golf links, between E. W. Hunt and D. Taylor, over 86 holes, the latter winning 8 up and 7. In the semi-finals of the Bonnington Cup competition, C. G. Fisher beat E. W. Hunt 1 up, and W. J. Ormandy beat K. Skurr, after tieing over 36 holes. Fisher and Ormandy will meet in the final over 36 holes. The second qualifying round for the Lloyd trophy will bo played over the coming weekend, in conjunction with the Smithson trophy, a competition of 18 holes stroke play on handicap. In the ladies' section, Mr E. J. Cowan's trophy was played for in a medal match, Mrs Hunt and Mrs Young tieing with a net 76, and Mrs Lloyd being runner-up with a net 77.

METHVEN CLUB. The Methven Golf Club played s bogey match on Saturday for a cup presented by Mr S. O. Holmes. The results were: P. A. Watson all square, H. Thompson 4 down, H. Fryer 5 down. The Methven Golf Club will hold their closing day on September 27th, when the prizes and trophieß won during the season will be presented. GERALDINE CLUB. '■ In one of the greatest battles for the national amateur, golf title. Harry Hattersley defeated Len Nottlefold, twice holder of the title, at the 88th hole. Sloan Morpeth beat Barton Adams in hollow fashion, 10 np and* 8. Alex Russell beat Eric Apperly 5 and 4. W. A. Edgar boat W. Rymill 1 np, after a grand struggle. The surprise of the professional matches was the defeat of B. Spence by J. Robertson, 8 and 5. Rufus Stewart beat Ivan Howard 8 and 7. E. Naismith beat A. Downs 2 np. W. J. Fowler beat Era Wood 8 and 2. THE SEMI-FINALS. (Received September 17th, 10.25 p.m.)' MELBOURNE, September 17.
