NEW FACTORY IN CANADA. SOME GIVEN. (uaiTBD . PRE3B ASSOCUTXOS—BT IXSCTXIC 4BLBOBAPH—COPSBXOHT.) (Received September 14th, 5.5 p.m.) TORONTO, September 13. The construction of a'new plant t<\ manufacture the Sunshine Harvester Combine ia progressing satisfactorily, according to an official of the Waterloo Manufacturing Company, which is jointly interested in the project. with the McKay' Company. The work is right up to schedule and it is anticipated thaft the plant will go into production before the end of 1930. Meantime the combines for sale in North and South America, are being assembled at the plant of the Waterloo Manufacturing Com* pany, from parts imported from Australia. The plant under construction will have an annual capacity of upwards of two thousand machines,, ultimately employ* ing 1500. A site comprising thirty acres in Waterloo, Ontario, has been secured, and of this, ten acres is being utilised. The present buildings are so arranged as to permit. of an expansion at any. time without interfering with current operations. • • By practically a unanimous vote, the ratepayers of Waterloo endorsed a bylaw granting the new company a fixed assessment of 25,000 dollars, for i period- of ten years. Railway sidings were commenced in June by both Canadion Pacific and Canadian Railways and payed streets are to' be laid to the site. . The first unit of the new plant will be ready this autumn, the largest building of which will be the assembly room, 450 feet long. A new company is to be incorporated, but no announcement of the name has yet been made. It is understood that the capitalisation is • approximately 2,500,000 dollars, and each of the two companies interested wilj assume its portion of financing. Pour directors will be chosen, two representing the Waterloo Manufacturing Company and two the McKay Company.
