CIVIC TALKIES.
SPECIAL MATINEES. The extraordinary success attending the screening of the special children's matinee each morning at the Civic Theatre, when ilickey the Mouse is screened, together with "Hot Dog," a canine comedy, and the world's greatest comedian, Charlie Chaplin, in "The Circus," has led the management to extend the same programme to the afternoon session as well as the morning. particulars are announced in our advertising columns. In the evening only will bo screened "The Case of Sergeant Grischa." This is a magnificent picture directed against -the ruthless machinery of German Army discipline. It is taken behind the lines, in a German prison camp in Poland, and contains not a single battle scene. _ The photography is excellent, and it is doubtful whether better and clearer speaking has been heard in the City since talkies became the vogue. "The Case of Sergeant- Grischa" will be screened ouly in the evenings, and will' conclude on Saturday next. Plans are I at The Bristol.
