NORTH ATLANTIC FLIGHT. GERMAN MACHINE FORCED DOWN. ST JOHN'S (Newfoundland), August 24. Captain von Gronau, tho German airman, has left Cartwright Bay. The Battel Harbour and Point Amour wireless «tntioii reported that the aeroplane passed nearby, apparently taking a course along the St. Lawrence River for a destination unknown. Later Captain von Gronau passed Cape Anguille, Newfoundland, at 10.30, flying towards Halifax. HALIFAX, August 24. Captain von Gronau was forced down by heavy rains at Queen sport Harbour, Nova Scotia, at 3.46 p.m. Their charts were not sufficiently detailed to enable von Gronau and his three Companions to make Halifax. They will proceed here probably on Monday morning en route to tho United States. With the exception of tho fog they have experienced no difficulty.
