As a result of an investigation by Liberal organisers at Vancouver it is reported that New Zealand butter importations were used in the farming sections to influence voting in favour of the victorious Conservatives. The reports alleged that the Conservative election organisers, in conjunction with. Conservative wholesalers, imported large supplies of New Zealand butter, dumping them in the agricultural sections at greatly reduced prices just before the election, the losses being made up from the campaign funds.
