Particulars of the three athletes are as follows: — Simpson, age 20 years—loo yards OJsec, 9 2-ssec (block start); 220 yards 20 3-ssec, 20 4-ssec. Bullwinkle, age 20 years—One mile 4min 18 4-ssec; half-mile lmin 54 7-10 sec. Bullwinkle has beaten Lermond, who toured New Zealand last season, over three-quarters of a mile in. 3min 5 3-10 sec. ,Bothert—Shot 51ft Olin; javelin 178 ft 6in; discus 143 ft; high jump sft lOJin. In presenting the sub-committee's report to the Council to-day, Mr V. Hugo said there were no athletes suitable in Canada, and in view of the fact that an American team was to tour South Africa next season, it was beyond question to expect visitors from.South Africa. It is proposed that the Americans will be in New Zealand from January. 12th. to March. 24th.
