TECHNICAL COLLEGE TOURNAMENT.

WESTPORT PLAY CHRISTCHURCH. Students from the Westport Technical High School, who have been visiting Christchurch over tho week-end, on the invitation of the Christchurch Technical College, played a series of games against the local pupils yesterday. Christchurch were the victors in two out of the three contests. With several other social engagements the visit was voted a great success by pupils from both schools. Yesterday morning the visiting girls were taken over Messrs Bunting and Co.'s brush factory, where they became acquainted with the process of manufacture. Tho boys inspected Messrs Scott Bros.'s Engineering Works, and early in tho evening a visit was made to Station 3YA. Tho visitors were entertained at lunch after tho games in the morning. A social evening in the Technical Collego Hall completed the day, dancing and various concert items comprising the programme. The visitors leave for the Coast this morning. Results of the sports contests played at Ensor's road, wero as follows: Football. The team 9 were: — Westport—T. Mallett, D. Stewart, A. Strachan, D. McWho, T. Phippe, J. Douglas, A. Archer, T. Woodcock (captain), W. R. Weonink, N. Wilde, W. Jenkins, B. Davis, D. Thomas, J. Brown, I. Wilde. Christchurch —W. Robertson, T. Gray, R. Lee, L. Johanson, R. Tolputt, E. Wickham, K. Hall, G. Watson, D. Johnson, L. Jack-man, J. Hartland, 0. Roberts, W. Bradley, R; Harris, D. Twiss (captain). The Christchurch boys were much the bigger team, and were able to play an attacking gams throughout. Rain had made the ground very soft, with the result that the game, though willing, was not spectacular. The Coast team tackled hard, and played well against a stronger combination, bift were outclassed. „ , . In the first spell Tolputt scored twice and Wickham once for Christchurch, Roberts converting the three, and Phipps kicked a penalty for Westport. Christchurch had the better of the second half also, though there was little further scoro until near the end. Loe (2), Gray, Jafikman, Tolputt, and another scored tries, Roberts converting one.
