Anderson, of Benchley avenue, Papa-: nui, where Mrs Anderson entertained several of her friends at a flag bridge' party. . - - ' Among those present were Mr, and Mrs C. Herd, Mr and Mrs D.-A.-Penn,; Mr and Mrs Syme, Mr and Mrs A.. Kirby. Mr and Mrs T. H. Patton, Mr: and Mrs Steele, Mr and Mrs H. W. • Anderson, Mrs Estall. and Messrs Cliff Herd, Howard, Suckling, and ' Frad Thome. Musical items were given ny Mrs P. A. Penn and Mr Fred Thome. The prize-winners were Mrs Clarry Herd, Mrs T. H. Patton, and Mr Howard. LINCOLN GUILD OF MISSIONS. . The annual meeting of the Lincoln Guild of Missions was held in the Vicarage on Thursday afternoon, the vicar (the Rev. A. H. Acheson) presiding. The annual report recorded a very successful year, meetings being interesting and well-attended. Two missionaries from overseas had given addresses. A very successful sale had °®®n held and the Guild • had taken a stall in the recant North Chftia sale of work in Christchurch. The exact amount of money raised during theyear, it was reported, was not yet known, but the quota was reached. It was decided to continue on the same lines as last year and to hold a meeting m conjunction with the Springston and fai Tapu Ladies' Guilds. Mrs H. irC ,1- er re-elected secretary. The Misses Smith provided afternoon tea,. Electors strike out the two top lines on July 23rd, and leave the bottom one with the name Trillo, as he is the best candidate offering as Councillor. He will support anything that is progressive. g
