RAILWAY SERVICES.
THE SPRINGBURN LINE. PROTESTS BEAU FRUIT. The protests made by. those interested against the decision of the Minister for Railways to close the railway line between Mt. Somers and Sprinbuni have apparently convinced the Minister that he had made a mistake in deciding to dose this line. Official advice was received by the Ashburton stationmaster on Saturday to the effect that the railway line between Mt. Somers and Sprmgburn will now remain open, instead of being closed as from to-day, as previously decided.
