SUBSIDY WANTED.

POULTRYMEN TO MEET PRIME MINISTER. At ten o'clock this morning, the Prime Ministor, the Hon. 0. W. Forbes, will receive a deputation from the New Zealand Poultry Association in regard to a Government subsidy on the export of eggs. The New Zealand Poultty Association sent a deputation to the Hon. A. J. Murdoch (Minister for Agriculture) on June 29th, regarding the granting of a guarantee to poultrymen on the export of eggs. Word was later received from Mr It. W. Hawke, M.P., that the Government regretted that it was unable to grant a guarantee on t-ggs during the coming season. On Saturday the organising secretary of the Association, Mr G. H. Bradford, sent the following telegram to Mr Hawke: "Poultrymen are astounded at the decision of the Government in not granting relief to our valued industry by way of subsidy or .guarantee, and cannot let the matter stand as at present. Will vou arrange w ™ Prime Minister, the Hon. G. W. Forbes, to receive a deputation of poultrymen on his way back from InvercarguiP TheloHowing replv has been received from the Prime Minister: "Mr Hawke has seen me iri regard to your telegram asking me to; receive a deputation. T will meet a deputation at 10 a.m. tomorrow (Monday) at Warner's Hotel. Mr Tsitt has also wired me in the matter."
