WATER SUPPLY BOARD.

WAIMAKARIRI- ASHLEY. At the monthly meeting of the Wai-makariri-Ashley Water Supply Board, there were present Messrs Jas, Brown,; ,Jj Fj.'Pawson; JVSheat, G,: ;WayJdnd, kid V. :' : '"/' ;: The secretary, reporting on the work carried 'out during the month, stated that the race on the road near Barker's corner at Summerhill had been piped. Two culverts had been extended in the Bangiora district. Open races at Mandeville and Swannanoa had been covered in. A 24ft pipe flume had been put in to carry the race over a gully at Cust. A portion of the main race at Fernside had been widened and several leaks stopped. It was decided to cover an open race on Leahmann's road, Bangiora, as soon as pipes are available; also that two open races on the Downs road should be piped. Mr Sheat reported that a satisfactory agreement had been arrived at with ratepayers concerning gorse growing alongside the main race. The secretary was instructed to make arrangements for raising a redemption loan for paying the balance of the £13,000 loan. It was decided to call tenders for repairs to the intake gates at Brown's Rock headworks.

Accounts amounting to £149 14s lid were paased for payment,
