THE NEW BARONET.
SIR CYRIL WARD. The new baronet, Sir . Cyril Ward is a well-known and popular church business man. He was born about forty-four years ago at the Bluff and educated at St. Patrick's College. Wellington, and St. Ingatius' College. Sydney. After being connected with the now defunct "New Zealand Times," Wellington, he joined his father's firm, the J. G. Ward Company, Invercargill, and remained with it till about 1914, when thfe shipping. Customs, and insurance firm of Kinsnv Barns, and Co., Christehurth, w£ con* verted into a limited Uability company. His father, in order to relieve himself of _ the details'of the , business, appointed Mr Cyril Ward manager of Kinsey and Co., Ltd., and Mr Ward left Invercargill and took up his residence m Christchurch, continuing in the position of manager to the presents He married Miss Davidson, of Brisbane, the daughter of a wellknown Queensland runholder. Thev have, six children, five boys and one daughter, named Theresa, after the late Lady Ward. Two of their sons Joseph and James, are in legal osc*s in Christchurch, with the view .of adopting the la\v as their nrofeZ sion. The other eons are still young the youngest being twins. K .' Both Sir Cyril -and Lady Ward are popular in society, and are held [n high esteem by a wide circle ot friend" in Christchurch and other parts of the Dominion Sir Cyril' is a Len golfer and spends most of his spare tiSe at the game He has won tnany trophies both on the Shirley links and on linfe in other parts of New Zealand FU of thfe Committee Af Christchurch'Golf Club- he i. member of the committee of r * terbury Club.
