1 BOARD OF GOVERNORS MEETS. .The Board of Governors of the Canterbury ■ Agricultural College,. Lincoln, met yesterday.' • Present—the'/Hon. D. Buddo, M.L.C. (chairman), Dr. H. G. Denbam, Professor . E.. E- Alexander, Messrs H. B. S. Kyle, M.?., N. M. Orbell, C. H. Hewlett, J. Deans, W. A. Banks, and ,T. H. Knight. ; "'The' Department of Scientific ana Industrial Besearch wrote asking if the Board would be agreeable' to the building of. a shed on the College property in which to accommodate Dr. .t'rankel s samples of grain collected in connexion with his wheat; breeding and selection work. It. was estimated that a' suitable shed could be at a cdßt of approximately £350. Ministerial approval for the funds necessary for the building was being sought. It was decided that the Board agree to the erection of. the building. ■ A letter was received.from the Gov-ernor-General (Lord Bledisloe) stating that he regretted his inability to attend the jubilee gathering of the College on July 29th, but would do his utmost to visit the College in August. - It' was decided that arrangements for the transportation of a wool scouring plant given to the College, which had been at the King Edward Technical College, Dunedin, to Lincoln College be left in the hands of the director. An offer of £5 9s towards the College's prizes was received from the Chilian Producers' Association, It was decided to accept the offer with; thanks and to . use it for two prizes in essays on subjects to be recommended by the director. . Professor Alexander reported that the attervliinw at the winter classes were between 25 and 27, the farmers classes being larger than last year.
