SCOTTISH SOCIETY.
BRANCH AT HAWARDEN . PROPOSED. There is a possibility of a branch of the Scottish Society of New Zealand, Christchurch, being formed with the township of Hawarden as its headquarters. Those in the district, who have been interesting themselves in the matter, have informed the Chief of the Scottish Society (Mr A. A. Arrangements are being made for a gathering at Hawarden in about three weeks at which the new Society will be formed. If possible Chief McLachlan will -attend this gathering; Mr R. M. Speirs and one or two members of the Council pf. the Society intend being present. The indications point to the formation of the Society being taken' up enthusiastically.
