LORNEVILLE STOCK SALE.
(FKSBS ASSOCIATION mHUK.) INVERCAEGILL. July 8. Medium yarding* were forward in all seetions at the weekly Lomeville stock sale, held to-day in the pretence of a fair attendance of the public. The demand in all sections was keen and a firm sale resulted. Fat Sheep—The yarding was a very small one, being about halt that of last week. A feiV pens of extra prime ewea were forward Mid a small offering of prime wetjiers, also a fair number of medium quality ewea. The fat lamb entry was a small one but comprised good quality and prices wen very firm at last week's rates. Prices were as tallows: —Prime wethers up to 28s 6d, lighter sorts from 23e fid to 255, prime heavy butchers' ewes up to 80s, medium-weight from 15s to 17s 10d, lighter sorts down to 10s 6d, prime butchers' lambs up to 24s 6d good freesing lambs from 18s to 20s, lighter sorts down to 17s. . Fat Cattle—The yarding comprised about a quarter more than the previous sale, and the quality was much improved. A few pens of extra prima bullocks were forward, also a fair yarding of. prime heifers and a smaller percentage of medium and inferior qualities..! Prices opened round about last week's rates, but for prime heavy ox beef the demand was not so keen. Higher values were ruling for anything prime in light-weight bullocks and for mod heifers and cows, and for these last week's values were maintained.- Extra prime heavj bullocks realised l up to £lB 10s, medium-weights from £ll to £l4, lighter sorts down to £9 10a. extra prime cows up to £l2 10s, medium-heights from £3 10s to £lolos. lighter sorts .down to £6 10s, extra prime heifers op to £lB, medium-weights from £9 10s to £ll 10s, lighter sorts down to £7 10s, vealers from £3 to £8 17s 6d. Store Sheep—There was a very small ysrdmg in this section, comprising a number of pens of hoggets, the demand ■ for which was fair, decent mixed sex ho?gets making up to 16s with medium from 18a 6d to 14s. A pen of old ewes sold at 4s 6d. Store Cattle—The offering, which was probably the smallest yarded for some time consisted of three pens of decent two-year-old cattle which were passed in at £8 and £7a pen of aged oows, in poor condition, made £3 oßi BLACKWATER MINES, LTD. The following is the mine mutagens report for Crushed 8280 tons, yielding 1201 flue ounces gold valued at £5097. working exnenses £4854. In addition the roaster treated 90 tons of concentrates for a return of 108 fine ounces gold valued at £486. Working expenes £166. Working profit is £715.
