YESTERDAY'S TRANSACTIONS. Markets were brighter on call yesterday, and the recorded turnover expanded somewhat. Transactions exclusive of vestibule business included: — 200 Comm. Bank of Australia. 20 National Bank of Australasia (£lO paid). 40 National Bank of Australasia' (£5 paid). 25 Union Bank of Australia. , 100 A.P.A. Insurance. 100 New Zealand Insurance (cum div.). 150 New Zealand Breweries. 50 Staples Brewery. 200 Tooths Brewery. 200 Holden's Motors. 500 Stoney Creek (Cd paid). 100 Waihi Mining. 1000 Winding Creek (6d paid). Commercial Bank of Australia shares | had dealings at 20s Hd and 21s, market closing 20s lid buyers, 21s 2d sellers. National Bank of Australasia fully-paid shares eased to £l4 7s 6d and £l4 Bs, and the £5 paid to £7 0s 6d. Union Bank of Australia shares changed hands at £ll 15s, £ll 13s, and £ll 14s, market closing £ll 12s 6d buyers, £ll 13s 6d sellers. Australian Provincial Assurance shares realised 7s 3d, and more were wanted at 7s, sellers at 12s. New Zealand Insurance shares cum dividend advanced to 47s 6d, sellers staying in at that price, buyers at. 475. New Zea land Breweries' shares dropped to dealings at 50s 4d, 50s 3d. and 50s Id, market closing 50s Id buyers, 50s 2d sellers. Staples Brewery shares showed an easing of Is, with turnover at 46s 6d. Tooths Brewery shares hardened to 31s 9d and 31s lOd, and there were further buyers at 31s 9d, sellers at 325. British Tobaccos were stronger with buyers at 37s Id, sellers at 37s 2d. Quotations for Dunlop Perdriau Rubber, Mt. Lyell, and Electrolytic Zinc preference shares indicated stronger markets. Holden's Motors changed hands at 10s and 10s Id. Unsupported sellers of Wilson's* Cement shares reduced their limits to 44s 3d. Stoney Creek 6d paid Bhares realised 6d. and Winding Creek (6d paid) 2d. Waihi Gold Mining shares relapsed to 14s 3d, closing quotations 2d on either sido.
