CATHEDRAL BELLRINGERS' SOCIETY.
- The annual meeting of the Christchurch Cathedral Society of Bellringers was held at the Deanery last evening. Dean J. A. Julius presided over a full attendance of members. The annual report, presented by the secretary (Mr G. N. Sloan), and adopted gave a credit balance of *6 l»s aa, as' compared with fill 2s 3d over a period of eighteen months in 1928-29. The visitors' donation box had yielded 12s 3d. During the year the Society had been visited by Mr James Wilde, of Dunedin, an expert on nngmg methods, and by & ringer from Wellington. The deputy-master (Mr G. Claydon) had given a danger signboard. An enlarged photograph of the late Mr A* G. Custin had been placed in the belfry. The usual Christmas cake was given to St. Saviour's Orphanage. Messrs T. Fergusson, B. McLeary, and T. Witty were three new members elected. The resignation of Mr D. Sloan was accepted. Mr S. Barnett resigned from the office of master of the bel]s - . Officers were elected as follows: —• Master, Mr G. H. Claydon; deputymaster, Mr G. N. Sloan; secretary and treasurer, Mr B. McLeary; management committee, the master, deputy-master, secretary, and Mr C. Mattieson; delegate to the Cathedra! Guild, Mr, W. Kerr. After supper several peal# were given by members on the band-belle.
