PICTON FREEZING WORKS. I (SPBCIII, TO THB PB®BB.I BLENHEIM, June 23. Killing for the -.season was brought to a conclusion at-the Pictotj Freezing Works on Friday with a record.output of. 140,000 carcases of lamb and mutton and about 500 cattle. The best previbus record was about' 124,000 carcases ten years ago.' The high out-, put on that occasion' was accounted for by i a drought period. This- year's record is largely accounted for by. the fact that stock has been secured over a much wider area than has been the case hitherto. The scope of operations in the past has been confined for all practical purposes to the Wairau and Awatere districts.
