111 a letter to hand by last week's mail from London, H. Dawson and Co., Ltd., say that the outstanding feature of tho market is the all-round indication of an improving demand for merinoes. Tho wools which are arriving from South Africa and Australia are being rapidly taken up and absorbed. The position of supplies of line wool is assuming a new perspective, and tho much-feared bogey of excessive stocks is not likely to cause any severe fright. It is now evident, states the company, that the Australian market will be cleared before the new clip wools can be available, and this fact alone has done something to restore confidence. <
