Kainfall t« dato ** .. 9.653 in 8.920 in Auckland—The weather wan fine yesterday, with a light southerly wind. The barometer ia rising, the reading last evening being 80.25. Wellington—The weather yesterday _ was beautifully fine, with a light southerly wind. Dunedin —Following heavy rain on Thursday and a very cold night, the weather was fine and practically calm yesterday. The maximum temperature was 50 degrees. The barometer rose rapidly on Thursday night, and now is steady, the reading being 80.00. Forecast General situation l —An anti-cyclono_ is passing north of New Zealand, but a slight depression is advancing across the Southern Tasman. Winds —Moderate south-westerlies north of New Plymouth and East Cape, olsewhero freshening west to north winds.
Seas —New Zealand waters: Smooth to moderate, but later rising south of Cape Egmont. Tasman Sea: Moderate, but freshening west to north-west winds and moderate seas in the Eastern Tasman. Weather— Mainly fair to One, but scattered showers developing in western and southern distriots; temperatures cold at first, with tog in places, but becoming milder before morning in the South Island. dominion reports.
