LIFE-SAVING.
CANTERBURY CENTRE. The committee of the Canterbury Head Centre of the Royal Life Saving Society was held last night, Mr P. R. Olimie presiding. In a letter to the chief secretary, London, the secretary (Mr P- G. Bamford) wrote that the Victoria Head Centre was unable to bear the whole cost of block for the Surf Institute certificate, and he (the writer) was offering £o towards the cost if a special block is to. be made on lines previously suggested. By acclamation a vote of appreciation of Mr Bamford's action was agreed to. -^ As Mr Climie had another engagement Mr J. Breward was voted to the chair. , A The chief secretary. London, wrote that he would be happy to be of any assistance to Messrs P. G. Bamford and J. Struthers when they visited England. On March .22nd a conference between headquarters and-the English branches was held, and had proved helpful..
