• : *_ ■ At Jast evening's meeting of the Waimairi. County Council, conditions were laid down for the extension of the Mairehau Hall. The hall committee had waited on the Council, stating that it had the money in hand to build on to the hall, but needed more land and a definite tenure. It was decided that two members of the hall committee should be appointed trustees, and a 21-years' lease be given of the site, the rental to bo nominal, and the site to include an additional strip on the west side.
