Senator Hewitt Bostock, Speaker In the Canadian Senate, has died at his home at Monte Creek, ' British Columbia. He was born in England 66 years ago. • [Hewitt Bostock was born m .Etttom, Surrey, England, m 1864.' He wsa pilled to the Bar, Lincoln's Inn, in 1888, but he never practised. Ho Settled in British Columba m 1893 Mid was returned to Parliament as a liberal member in 1896. Since 1904 he has been a member of the Senate 'from British Columbia and was chosen as teader of the Liberals in that Bouse , in succession to Sir George Boss in 1914. He was Minister for Public Works in 1921*22 and Speaker of the " Senate in 1923 He was also a mem- "'' her of -the Privy Council of Canada.]
