At last night's meeting of the New Zealand Trotting Association, Mr J. R. McKenzie suggested that it be a recommendation to the meeting of delegates to the New Zealand Trotting Conference that a rule be passed stating that no assistance should be allowed to any horse at the barrier, and that Kule 286 be amended to that effect. "It became a question," said Mr Mackenzie, "as to who should be allowed at a horse's head at the start, and as to how many assistants should be allowed at the start of a race. Maybe half a dozen or more drivers might apply for assistance, and the whole affair became chaos, f : H. Matson and Co. will hold their annual sale of trotting stock to-morrow at Tattersall's, commencing at 9 o'clock. Catalogues are now available. 1
