ST. ALBANS BATHS.
CITY COUNCIL'S APRROVAL. At a recent meeting of the Water Supply and Works Committee of the City Council a deputation, representing the St. Albans Bath Committee, attended and requested that the Council set aside the southern half of the Edgeware- road yard as a site for the proposed new baths in St. Albans. The Edgeware road yard was pur-, chased in 1922 at a cost of £855, and it has an area of just over an acre. At present a portion of it is used for the storage of metal, etc. The Public Bath Committee. proposes -raising funds by public subscript tion and other-means to cover the cost of constructing the baths which, when completed, will be handed over to the Council. In the circumstances, the committee recommended to last night's meeting-of the Council that the request be acceded to. The report was adopted.
