LIBERTY THEATRE.

SPLENDID DOUBLE BILL. "WHY LEAVE HOME!" A Urga audience witnessed and enthusiastically approved a splendid double bill programme, consisting- of "Why Leave Homo?" and "The Climax," at the Liberty Theatre last evening. Under the title of "Why Leave Home I" the talking* picture version of that hilarious farce, "Cradle Snatchers,"' affords entertainment of the first order, and Its popularity should continue unabated during the coming week. The central plot of the stage play has been kept intact, but trimmings have dexterously been added which enhance the comedy and allow the production to go with a merry swing from start to finish. The film deals with the adventures of three husbands at the stage of life when they can qualify as "tired business men." For diversion they turn to duck shooting, and set off together carrying all the impedimenta of the sport. Their wives, however, have reached the "neglected wifo" stage. As the husbands disappear their wives enlist the services of three college boys, and enter on a campaign to make the trio of husbands jealous. The youths, at tint shy, eventually enter into the "spirit of the game" A merry series of complications follow, and afford • wealth of comedy fare. Especially notablo is the work of Mr Walter Catlett as the most tactless of tlio three husbands. The second film Is "The Climax," a sound picture with music which includes a splendid rendition of Toselli'e "Serenade" by the leading lady, who takes the part of a budding prima donna in a happily-conceived plot. An interesting gasette is that showing the cheering crowds greeting Mr Ramsay Mac Donald as ho meets Mayor Walker in Now York.
