NEW MODERATOR.
* REV. THEO. PATERSON CHOSEN. Perhaps the youngest man who has ever been Moderator of the Christchurch Presbytery is the Bev. Theo. Paterson, M.A., 8.D., aged 30, who was appointed to the position at yesterday's Presbytery meeting. Mr Paterson had a distinguished scholastic career as a student at Canterbury College and at Knox College. At present he Is pastor at Halkett. He comes of ah old Presbyterian family. His father, who is now dead, formerly held a charge in Sydney, and his brother, the Bev. John Paterson, has a charge in Wanganui. He was formerly pastor at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Christchurch. The Moderator, who .holds office for a year, is chosen by election. The Rev. John Miller, of St. Giles's, Papanui, is the retiring Moderator.
