There is one case of smallpox aboard the Union Company's liner Aorangi, -which arrived hers this evMiing from Vancouver, via Honolulu and Suva. The victim is a second-class woman passenger from Vancouver. The vessel arrived at six o'clock. After the health officers had been aboard for some time it was announced that there would be no communication with shore. The Aorangi proceeds to Motuihi Island quarantine station in the gulf. To-morrow morning all passengers will be landed on the island. The vessel will be fumigated. The Australian passengers will re-embark and the vessel will return to Auckland, remaining in the stream till to-morrow night, when she will sail for Sydney. The passengers for New Zealand will remain on the island. No cargo will be landed here, as the vessel will not berth. The letter mail for Now Zealand was discharged tonight, and the southern portion was dispatched by train. The smallpox victim is a young woman bound from Vancouver to Sydney. The case, a mild one, developed during the last few days. The passengers will 1)0 c" the quarantine island three or four weeks. The Aorangi sails for Sydney under quarantine. DEATH AT PERTH.
