Purcell, of Canada, gave a brief but interesting address on "Warm Air Heating." A fund of £4OOO lias been raised by the Auckland Returned Soldiers' Association for the purpose of inscribing a roll .of honour in the memorial section of the new, Auckland Museum. A committee is now engaged upon the compilation of the list of all men of the Auckland military district who died on active service or as a result of wounds or disease contracted during their service. Seeing that there are bound to be numbers of ex-Aucklanders who served in the units of other provinces, in the Forecs of Britain or other Dominions or in the Royal Navy, whose names may not be found on the Auckland rolls of Base Records, the committee has asked people possessing information in regard to any of these men to forward it without delay.

Yesterday afternoon the delegates to the Plumbers' Conference visited Messrs Scott Bros., Ltd., foundry. They were particularly interested in the manufacture of porcelain baths and viewed the process in all its stages. The placing of the porcelain on the metal was a sight not easily to be forgotten. Each bath iB placed in a furnace until it is glowing red all over. The porcelain is then blown on in powder form. This operation is repeated three or four times, until the bath has the familiar white glaze. An interesting feature' is that a small percentage of Onekaka (New Zealand) iron is used in the manufacture of these baths. Later, the delegates visited Messrs Cromptons, Ltd, foundry, and saw the manufacture of spouting, downpipes, and cisterns. Want something cool and refreshing?
