ISS><). 1930 Rainfall to date .. .. 4.1' Join 5.000 in Auckland—The wet weather which commenced in Auckland on Thursday continued all day yesterday, and tho rainfall was the heaviest for one day for a number of years. Wellington—The weather yesterday took an unfavourable change, the wind veering from northerly to westerly, and theu to the south, and rain threatened. The sky was still overcast last night, but the rain wns holding off well. Dunedin—Weather fine and warm, temperature being 73 degrees in the shade at midday. Sky rather cloudy during morning, hut eunshine recorded throughout rest of day, with a lieht breeze from north-east. Might fine, clear, and warm. Barometer high and steady. Forecast. A small anti-cyclone haß followed yesterday's depression across the South Ibland, and a cyclone has developed in the north Tasman, and a fresh depression is moving on to the south-west Tasnjan. The forecast is for east to north winds, fresh to strong in North Auckland and Cook Strait, and light to moderate elsewhere
Seas in New Zealand waters are likely to be rather rough north of East Cape and in Cook Strait, and smooth to moderate in other parts, mid ill the Tasman Sea east to north winds, hi the eastern Tasman, fresh to strong in the northern portion, light to moderate in the southern, sens smooth to moderate.
Prospects are for fair to lino weather smith of Westport and Kaikoura, elsewhere dull and misrv, with some ruin, which is likely to be fairly general north of Cape ISgmont and Napier, where 6ome further heavy falls in places, with thunder, are likely, and scattered showers, and chiefly light in the remainder of tho area. Temperatures probably still warm and sultry in the North Island. Moderate temperatures from Cook Strait southwards.
