PLAY UNLIKELY TO-DAY.
. frSESS ASSOCIATION TZLEOBAM.) , ' AUCKLAND, February 14. Cricket Enthusiasts were greatly disappointed when heavy rain caused the postponement of the first day's play in the final Test match between NewZealand and. the-M.C,p. eleven. The rain, which set in heavily last night, and continued without • cessation day, covered the ground with pools of water.
Although the'wicket was covered, a certain ;amount of rain -is. bound to trickle through the protection'' and wicket, u a start is possible" tomorrow, is sure to be damp-on the "surface. Conditions to-night, however, do not encourage hopes of any play at all to-morrow, the city being enveloped in heavy fog, with ' light drizzling rain.
