THE SQUARE.
CONSULTATION WITH CATHEDRAL CHAPTER. Representatives of the conference of local and other interests concerned with the layout of Cathedral square will consult with the Cathedral Chapter this afternoon. It is surmised that the plan favoured by the conference involves thq acquisition of some portion of the Cathedral grounds in order to give effebt to it. It is considered probable that the acquisition will bo accomplished by an exchange of ar6as, the City Council giving an area in front of the Cathedral iri return for ateas off each side of the Cathedral grounds. The Cathedral Chapter, of course; has no power to dispose of any part or the Cathedral grounds.
