NEW OPERA HOUSE.
Their high standard of entertainment is maintained by Jim Gerald and his merry man at Fullers' New Opera House this week. In "For the Duration," the inimitable Jim Gerald is as amusing as ever. As Muggins, the rouseabout,. and Private Muggins, the nuisance, he is seen in a part eminently suited to ' him. On 'a farm in Parrot Flat, Bungawallop, he wheels in a wheelbarrow fitted with, a motor-horn j in a ■ military camp he becomes over-familiar with his officers; on a troopship he hoodwinks his amusing pal Private Fairey (Reg. Hawthorne), and in the trenches becomes ths hero of the company. The first part of the programme, on the farm referred to. allows Letty Oraydon a» Jose—a station slavey—ft fine opportunity to achieve » suoceas in eccentric dancing and singing. Linda Toy sings well and shows a fins stags appearance as Mary Goodheart, fiances to Harry Aynsley (ft jackeroo), played by Tom Dais Elsie Jeninngs is well reoaivsd ss Sister Hope, and the chorus girls make ft good showing as privates of the comPftny. Howard Hall makes a gruff sergeant, Tom D»la a capable captain, and Dan Weldon • real army oook.
