FLOODS IN QUEENSLAND.
♦— • RAILWAY PASSENGERS STRANDED. (CHIT*D PRESS *SSOCt.VTION—BT EL.ECTB.In TELEGRAPH— COPTKIOBT.) BRISBANE, January 30. Many parts of Northern and Western Queensland that have been dry for years are now inland sens, and in some parts train passengers have been marooned in railway carriages for a fortnight. Two horsemen at different parts were drowned when their horses plunged into the surging waters, and a third man was drowned at Cunuamulla.
There is now a complete stoppage of railway services in the north and west. Approximately 1000 passengers are stranded at different parts. Supplies of foodstuffs at Mo-unt Isa are running short, as the towni has been isolated for a fortnight.
