"Ryder's knowledge of English wickets, his bowling and leadership and long experience in cricket have gone for nought," says the Melbourne MHerald," which adds: "It is more incomprehensible when it is recalled that he was actually one of the selectors of the team His coselectors accepted a heavy responsibility in rejecting him." TEAM LIMITED TO FIFTEEN MEN. GENERAL APPROVAL GIVEN. (Eeceived January 31st, 12.40 a.m.) SYDNEY, January 30. The Board of Control decided that the team for.England should be limited to fifteen players. Woodfull, Eichardson, and Kippax are to be the selectors on the tour. The Board was greatly annoyed at the premature disclosure of the team yesterday, and decided to ask eaeh selector by letter whether he was guilty "of this grave error."

The popular feeling in Sydney i a that the team is a good one, containing several all-rounders and extra bowling strength. It is expected that the bowlers, Fairfax, Wall, and Hornibrook are likely to be suited by the English conditions.
