SCHEDULE ISSUED.
The schedule and hook of words or the twentieth annual festival of the Christchurch Competitions Society has been issued. The festival is to open in the Municipal Concert Hall on May 10th, and entries are to close on March 20th. The judges will be: Vocal ami instrumental music. Mr James Brash, Sydney; elocution, Mr Clement May, Wellington; fancy and national dancing, Mr A. Sutherland, Invcreargill. New classes are as follows --Navy League recitation, twys under 1" (school or junior members of the Canterbury Branch of the Navy League), "Big Steamers." Vocal scholarships girls 12 and under 14, and girls 11 and under 16. Last year these classes carried prizes of 10s; tins year they are scholarships each of the* virtue ol £•> r )s. Primary schools' choir "A" and "B M grades. The "A" grade i> open to schools where the attendance is 361 or over; maximum number ot voices 35. Tho "B" grade, schools with an attendance up to 300; maximum number of voices 25. A school may cuter more than one ehoir in its grade. Coaching is to be done onlv bv the ecboo] staff Camp fire entertainment, open to Girl Guides and Bov Scouts, story song, and chorus; time limit, lo minutes.
